Kristen Ashberry (Lynne’s youngest daughter) was born in Midhurst and grew up in the Barrie area. She worked her young teen years for the City of Barrie. She graduated from high school and began to travel. She lived and worked out west for almost a year before returning to Barrie to complete a Marketing Course at Georgian College. She helped the family get the first Plato’s Closet open but the travel bug was firmly planted. She then departed to New Zealand for another year. She wasn’t home long when she was offered a position at the Banff Springs Hotel. Off she went enjoying many adventures as well as snowboarding and hiking. At every job, however, her business knowledge and customer service skills were growing immensely.
She has joined the family business and opened the Newmarket Plato’s Closet. She was the manager there for the first year, but is now our district manager, looking after store operations, advertising, HR, community events, merchandising, payroll and many other aspects of the business.
